Brooks - Zoe Atkin
An athlete brand film for Brooks Running — following professional skier and Stanford student Zoe Atkin through the off-season life behind the competition.
About the Project
Brooks Running needed an authentic, character-driven film for their YouTube series "Let's Run There" — a series that profiles the real lives of the athletes they sponsor. The subject was Zoe Atkin: a professional freestyle skier competing in a judged sport, and a full-time Stanford student. The creative challenge was finding the true story underneath the résumé — something honest about how she carries that pressure. An additional production constraint: we were only granted access to the Stanford athlete gym, not the broader campus, and our editor Dominic was remote for the entire shoot, requiring airtight pre-production before a single frame was captured.
Final Results
We delivered a long-form and short-form athlete story plus four carousel video clips for Brooks' social channels — shot over two production days across four locations in Northern California. The film shipped as part of the ongoing "Let's Run There" YouTube series, alongside other LOOK-produced content in the same campaign. The story landed because it was specific: not a highlight reel of Zoe's skiing, but a genuine portrait of how she lives when she's not competing.
“To me it's not about pleasing the judges — it's about going out and performing the best run that I can. It keeps me away from worrying so much about what the result is.”
